Obituary of John Johnson

Mr. John Alfred Johnson, age 86 a resident of Auburndale, Florida passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to pneumonia. Mr. Johnson was born September 10, 1926 in Cairo, Georgia to Julius & Laura Johnson. He and his wife have been Polk County residents since 1960 coming from Georgia. He was a retired delivery man for Borden's Dairy after 14 years. He also retired in 1991 from the City of Auburndale as the Public Works Director. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Auburndale, served on the Auburndale City Commission for several years and volunteered for the Auburndale Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, friends & family. Mr. Johnson also served in the Merchant Marines.
