Obituary of Lorenzo Martinez

Mr. Lorenzo Martinez, age 89, a resident of Auburndale passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Oak Haven Rehab & Nursing Center in Auburndale surrounded by family. Mr. Martinez was born September 5, 1934 in El Plan, Matehuala, SLP Mexico to Roman and Alejandra (Garcia) Martinez. He was a Florida resident since 1972 coming from Michigan. Lorenzo retired from the Aluminum Bond Manufacturing Industry in Michigan. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church & The Mission of Guadalupe Church both in Winter Haven. He was a Radio Disc Jockey in Michigan and a member of a Band where he played the 12 string guitar. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, being on a farm, raising animals, music and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 68 years – Maria Isadora Martinez (2023); 2 brothers & 4 sisters. Lorenzo is survived by his loving family, 4 sons – Lorenzo (Jill) Martinez, Jr., Joe Martinez, Aaron (Bonnie) Martinez & Martin (Julie) Martinez; 2 daughters – Sandy Kent (Frederick Della Corna) & Oralia (Steve) Bradley; 2 brothers – Alejo Martinez & Jose (Sally) Martinez; 20 grandchildren & 34 great grandchildren. An inurnment will be held 10am Saturday, June 15^th at Auburndale Memorial Park, 1889 West Derby Avenue.
