Obituary of Michael Emanuel King, II

Mr. Michael E. King, II, 67, of Auburndale passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born June 28, 1956 in Winter Haven and graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1974. Michael studied at the Ringling Brothers Clown College in Venice, Florida. He spent three years as a clown with The Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus and one season with a West Coast Company, the American Continental Circus. Michael brought professional clowning experience to his role as “Dopey” in Snow White Live (1980) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. He and the rest of the performers visited the White House under President Jimmy Carter entertaining his daughter Amy Carter. He also appeared on The Merv Griffin Show in his role as “Dopey”. Michael grew up enjoying fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents – Michael King, I and Mary (Jones) King; maternal grandparents – Estelle and John Jones and paternal grandparents – Hazel and Mike King. Michael is survived by his loving siblings, sister – Marcia Winslow husband James of Mooresville, North Carolina; brother – Mitch King wife Gail of Otter Creek, Florida; sister – Margret Braze husband Ryan of Milton, New Hampshire; niece – Mackenzie Radford and husband Mike of Brown Summit, North Carolina and great nephew – Lucas Radford of Brown Summit, North Carolina.
