Obituary of David Frederick Schulz

David Frederick Schulz, 85, of Auburndale, Florida passed away January 10, 2024, at Good Shepherd Forsythe Hospice House Auburndale, Florida. He was born on October 1, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Frederick W. Schulz and Doris Marie (Armstrong) Schulz.

David proudly served his country in the Army Reserves for 9 years. He was a motor pool Sergeant.

He was very proud of his families’ military service.

One of his favorite things to do was to tell the stories of his travels & of his family history. He had a love for all types of trains & really enjoyed hearing the different kinds of whistles. Visiting depots, museums & taking rides on vintage locomotives were part of that passion, while learning as much as he could about the history of how the locomotive industry was built. David loved music and singing; music was in his soul. Family gatherings were also special to him from family reunions in the summer to those special Sunday dinners with family and friends. David answered the call to ministry in 1971. His greatest joy was leading people to Christ and a life of faith. He was a pastor of churches in Indiana and earned his Master of Divinity Degree at United Seminary in Dayton OH.

David is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn E. King Schulz, Auburndale, FL., son Douglas Schulz (Kim), Clermont FL., granddaughter Lexi Schulz, Orlando, FL., grandson Drew Schulz, Daytona Beach, FL., sister Janice Schulz Hecht (Sam) Elizabeth, IN., brother James M. Campbell (Beth) Cheney, WA.

He was preceded in death by both parents, a brother (John) and his stepmother, Lucille Campbell Schulz.

A memorial service has not been scheduled at this time.
