Obituary of Marjorie Mae Mills

Mrs. Marjorie Mae Mills, age 92, a resident of Homeland, Florida passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe House in Auburndale. Mrs. Mills was born June 14, 1931 in Thomasville, Georgia to James Joseph and Trudy (Stevens) Owens. She was a Polk County, Florida resident since the 1940’s coming from Georgia. She was a homemaker, retired associate with Walmart, retired from Adams Packing and retired as a Bus Attendant for Polk County School Board. Marjorie was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Auburndale and attended the First Baptist Church in Homeland. She enjoyed music, gardening, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Odell Mills (1996), brother – Lamar Owens and sister - Barbara Ann Rabon. Marjorie is survived by her loving family, son – Roger (Lynn) Mills of Homeland, Florida; 3 granddaughters – Jennifer (Jonathan) Harrison of Fort Meade, Florida, Kimberly Smith of Homeland, Florida and Jessica Siler of Homeland, Florida; 6 great grandchildren – Jason, Daniel, Emmylou, Kaytlin, Austin and Alexus; 1 great great granddaughter – Paisley. Funeral services will be held 2pm Wednesday, October 11^th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
