Obituary of Marilyn Ann Fisher Goodman
Mrs. Marilyn Ann Fisher Goodman, age 89, a resident of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully at Mayo Clinic with her husband and daughter by her side. Mrs. Goodman was born June 9, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Harry and Juliet (Swain) Hershman. She was a resident of Jacksonville since 2014 coming from Auburndale, Florida. She graduated Valedictorian of her high school in Sheridan, Indiana. Marilyn was a retired Professional Musician & Orchestra Teacher. She played for many symphonies for over 60 years, playing violin in both the South Bend Symphony in Indiana and the Lakeland Symphony in Lakeland, Florida. She was a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Winter Haven, Florida and Temple Ahavath Chesed in Jacksonville, Florida. She enjoyed going to the Jacksonville Symphony & the Metropolitan Opera with her husband, traveling and proud to be a Rabbi’s wife. Marilyn was known for her kindness, displaying kind acts such as becoming a long time donor to The Best Friend Animal Sanctuary in Utah. Mrs. Goodman was preceded in death by her parents and 1st husband of 57 years – Zeal Fisher. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 9 years – Rabbi Robert Goodman of Jacksonville, Florida; Son – Dr. Maury (Joni) Fisher of Auburndale, Florida; Daughter – Lee Suzanne (Phillip) Buchanan of Belmont, North Carolina; honorary Daughter – Ariella (Adam) Reisner of Encino, California; Granddaughter – Jessica Crisostomo of Auburndale, Florida; Grandsons – Zachary Reisner & Eli Reisner both of California; and two Great Grandchildren - Giana Griner and Jaxon Crisostomo. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, September 18th at Kersey Funeral Home with a gathering beginning at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
