Obituary of Larry Robert Brinkley

Larry Robert Brinkley, age 80, a resident of Lakeland, Florida went to be with our Heavenly Father Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Spring Lake Rehab. Mr. Brinkley was born September 25, 1942, in Wytheville, Virginia to Paul Harding and Hazel Virginia Brinkley. Larry retired from Family Tradition Treestands as a salesman. He graduated from Florida State University. Larry played in the Football Minor League with the Florida Brahmans for 2 years. He received outstanding awards in football, baseball, wrestling and track. He also started the wrestling program in high school. His achievements included Football Hall of Fame for Ohio East Lake North High School, working for Family Tradition Treestands, Gilmour Rainbird, & Inox in hardware & sporting goods. Larry was in coaching for football in Tampa and Auburndale schools. His Pallbearers will be some of his students. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, racquetball and loved all sports of the great outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 child, Edward Paul Brinkley. Larry is survived by his loving family, wife of 53 years - Lola Gwendolyn Brinkley of Lakeland, Florida; 2 daughters – Patricia Lynn Brinkley of Mentor, Ohio and Lori Ann Brinkley of Sebastian, Florida; son – Larry Robert Brinkley of Madison, Ohio; sister – Linda Kay Bjornholm of Madison, Ohio; 4 grandsons – Casey Thomas

Fitzpatrick of Washington DC, Matthew John Zolcak of Painesville, Ohio and Sammie Joseph Pajcic of Knoxville, Tennessee; Alex Robert Brinkley of Cleveland, Ohio; 5 granddaughters – Nicole Marie Brinkley of Hudson, Ohio, Kaylee Marie Brinkley of Wickliffe, Ohio, Molly Kathleen Zolcak of Mentor, Ohio, Emily Ann Pajcic of Seattle, Washington and Kathleen Margaret Weekley of Knoxville, Tennessee; 2 great grandsons – Henry Lawhon Fitzpatrick of Washington DC and Leon Cruz Weekley of Knoxville, Tennessee; 1 great

granddaughter – Lilah Ann Weekley of Knoxville, Tennessee; 2 nephews – John Paul Bjornholm of Madison, Ohio and Douglas Jason Bjornholm of Painesville, Ohio. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, August 18th at Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale, FL, with visitation beginning at 9 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park
