Obituary of Hector Manuel Torres

Hector "Victor" Manuel Torres, 66, of Haines City, FL passed away in Auburndale, FL on July 23, 2023 at Good Shepherd Hospice.  He was born October 8, 1956 to the late Hector Sergio Torres and Orpha Rivera Hernandez in Manhattan, New York.

Victor (as many of us knew him), Torin to his family, was a loving husband and father, survived by his wife Gloria, his 3 daughters Jenifer Torres of Haines City, FL  Lauren (Edwin) Gonzalez of Dundee, FL, Cheila Torres of Eagle Lake, FL, step-sons Johnny Espinoza of Haines City, FL, Louie (Nally) Espinoza of Kissimmee, FL and Jamie (Lizmel) King of Murphy, NC, as well as 17 grandchildren.  Also survived by his mother Orpha Torres of Haines City, FL and sister, Yolanda (Liden) Torres of Orlando, FL.

He enlisted in the United States Air force at the very early age of 17. After serving in the Air Force, he attended aviation school in Miami, FL.  Started his career as an  aircraft mechanic specializing as a trouble-shooter for electrical systems with major airlines before working for Universal Studios in Tech Services for 31 years, where he recently retired.

Daughter's thoughts:  He was a beloved father to 3 daughters and by marriage added 3 sons.  We were known as the Brady bunch.  He loved doing things with his family.  I remember the times we went on vacations with him to the beach or pool and he was always the first one there to get the best spot for us to have all day.  After that came grandkids and he loved being with them, whether it was going to baseball games or playing cornhole in the driveway and always being the best.  He was always there in the good and the bad and always supported us no matter what.  Daddy we will miss you everyday and will have you in our hearts forever.

He loved his family and extended FAMILIA.  He was tough, but had a heart of gold.  He would help anyone in need no matter what the need was.  He loved working for hours in his beautifully manicured yard, especially trimming his hedges to perfection.  He also enjoyed spending time at his condo in Cocoa Beach, spending time with Michigan familia when they were visiting Florida and hanging out on his dock.  He loved time spent at annual Manistee FAMILIA campout.  Always the best times when playing in familia cornhole tournaments and sitting around the campfires.  He will forever be missed and always remembered.
