Obituary of Peggy Joyce Hutto

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Hutto, age 83 a resident of Smithfield, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Smithfield Manor surrounded by her family. Mrs. Hutto was born February 13, 1940 in Auburndale, Florida to Charles Whitman and Margie Inez (Tolar) Lynn. She was a resident of Smithfield, North Carolina since 2019 coming from Auburndale, Florida. Peggy graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1958 and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Auburndale. She worked as a Secretary for Florida Tire Supply Company in Auburndale 23 years. She enjoyed Leading The Free Will Baptist Women Active for Christ at the Local and State levels. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – James Edward Hutto (8/31/2018) and sister – Cindy. Peggy is survived by her loving family, 2 daughters – Lynn (Jason) Hurt of Smithfield, North Carolina and Teresa Hutto of Lake Wales, Florida; 2 brothers – Sam (Yvonne) Lynn of Auburndale, Florida and Tim (Donita) Lynn of Niceville, Florida; 2 sisters – Cherrie (Ed) Startt of Cherokee, North Carolina and Pansey (Tommy) Carter of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren – Megan, Andrew, Jenna, Christian, Austin, Callum, Audrey and Hunter; 6 great grandchildren – Noah, Lucas, Anna, Rayleigh, Hayden and Levi. For those who feel led, memorials may be made to the Brazil Missions that Peggy supported; Canady Missions, 179 Snowberry Lane, Smithfield, NC 27577.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, July 31^st at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park
