This was the first time we ever met. Do you remember? I was so nervous and excited at the same time! We got to meet in the most magical place on Earth, and it is so very fitting with who you are: magical.
I am so blessed to have gotten to know you in this life; I can only hope I get to meet you in the next. You were my best friend, and even if we hadn't spoken in a while, I still love you so much. I'm coming to Orlando in a month. I wish I could have seen you again. You mean the world to me. I miss you.

I wanted to add pictures of Snickers and Marceline so you knew they were together and safe.
I want to say that I am so sorry this world was so unkind to you. It is an unkind place but you still worked your butt off everyday to advocate for the animals we worked with and everyone around you. You reminded me of me when I started being a vet tech. I would always remind you to not let the owners make you bitter because sadly our clients would drain us but you always remained humble, kind, and patient. I always would tell you that I wished that I had even an ounce of your patience.
Our friendship meant more to me than you'll ever know. I can never believe when someone tells me how much I mean to them and I knew it was hard for you too. I truly do realize now that you did adore our friendship as much as I did. As hard as it is, I will continue to try to find comfort in being one of your last calls even when I didnt realize it would be goodbye. It is never a goodbye but a see you later. I will see you one day again but until then please keep sending by the butterflies and lady bugs. I need to know that you are still here in a way.
Thank you for all the beautiful sunsets you've sent. Thank you for being you. I will cherish our memories and will never stop saying your name.

Serena, your model soul, to me, defined the ideals of what gentleness should strive to be. Despite your pain, you still woke up every day before the sunrise and dedicated your entire day to something greater than yourself. You still laughed at funny jokes and drew until your arthritis wouldn’t let you. When people at work treated you badly, you still thought of ways to make then smile.
You had so many animals left to save and so many good songs you hadn’t found yet. You never got to pet a cow like you wanted to, and you never got to see Japan. You simply were not done here, and the tragedy of that loss will always be felt, even in the hearts of the ignorant.
I hope you are at peace somewhere out there. Thank you for showing me your favorite Broadway plays. Thank you for showing me good R&B and how to cut my cat’s nails. Thank you for your wonderful jokes and your funny poems. Thank you for always leaving funny voice mails on my phone and thank you for always worrying about those closest to you. Please give me the strength to carry your goodness, gentleness, and creativity onwards. This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you.

Serena was always so kind and funny. Her and I had not talked for many years, but she was always the kind of person that you knew would have your back as much as you wanted to have hers. She truly cared about the people in her life that she held dear and would be the person to cheer you on when no one else would or was looking. I send my deepest condolences and love to her family and close friends through this time. She will be thoroughly missed, may the memory of her as the loving person she was live on and be honored by those who loved her.
