Obituary of Ralph William Hanick

Ralph William Hanick, age 89, of Auburndale, Florida passed way on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Life Care Center in Winter Haven, surrounded by loved ones. Mr. Hanick was born to Andrew Hanick and Elizabeth "Lee" Guba Hanick on March 4, 1934 in Clairton, Pennsylvania. Ralph was a Veteran who served for two years in the US Army from 1954 through 1956, touring Germany and received an honorable discharge from the Army along with awards of Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupation Medal, and a medal for National Defense Service. Ralph was also a dedicated Sales Account Executive for Owens-Illinois in Winter Haven, serving the company for 30 years in this capacity. Mr. Hanick dearly loved his greatest achievement, his family, and made many beautiful and fun memories over the years as he loved spending time with them. For 50 years, Ralph was also "Santa Claus" for thousands of smiling children across many communities. Ralph loved sports, attending church, going on family trips and especially looked forward to spending these trips with his dearest grandchildren. Mr. Hanick was also a member of the K of C #4726, and member of the American Legion Post #8 where he loved to showcase his amazing dance moves. Ralph will be dearly missed by all the lives he touched. Mr. Hanick was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jane Dull Hanick. Ralph is survived by his son, James Hanick of Auburndale, FL; daughter - Elizabeth Janie (R. Brent) Meadows of Auburndale, FL; grandchildren - Steven (Sarah) Meadows of Auburndale, FL, Aaron Meadows of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Collin Meadows of Jacksonville, FL, and Logan (Kristie) Hanick; one great granddaughter - Mavis. Memorial service for Mr. Ralph William Hanick, of Auburndale, will be held at the St. Joseph's Chapel of Winter Haven, 532 Avenue M, NW, Winter Haven, Florida on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.
