Obituary of Nick A. Sityar

Nick Sityar was born in Manila, Philippines, on December 29^th 1966.  His biological parents were Macario Asido and Zenaida Batin Asido.  His adopted parents were Frederico Sityar and Nilda Sityar.  He served in the Navy as a medic on board the USS Lewis and Clark submarine.  He attended Touro Law School, practiced law, but ultimately chose to be a high school teacher at Ridge Community High School. He taught Social Studies and Political Science but his lessons went beyond those subjects.  He saw the good in his students and pushed them to realize their full potential.  He loved to box and coached and trained boxers, Clarence Booth among them.  He is survived by his wife Marybie Sityar, his extended siblings: Laura Asido-Castro, Raymond Asido, Deceral A. Mendoza, Jong T. Asido, Leah T. Asido, Dexter Asido, Erwin Sityar, Irma Sityar and Emily Sityar as well as all his ‘Favorite Students’, whom he dearly loved.
