Obituary of David J. Huegel

Mr. David J. Huegel, age 78 a resident of Polk City, Florida passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland surrounded by his family. Mr. Huegel was born July 5, 1944 in Easton, Pennsylvania to Raymond Ellsworth and Millason Elaine (Ittner) Huegel. He was a resident of Polk City, Florida since 1983 coming from Pennsylvania. Dave was a retired Truck Driver and a member of the Trucking Teamsters Union in Pennsylvania. He and his wife were the owners of Charles Plant Nursery in Polk City for 13 years. Dave also drove a Handicap School Bus for Polk County for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, football and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother – Kevin James Huegel and son in law – George Grembowicz. Dave is survived by his loving family, wife of 59 years – Sandy Huegel of Polk City, Florida; son – Jeffrey David Huegel of Auburndale, Florida; daughter – Stacy Sue Grembowicz of Polk City, Florida; sister – Lori Howard of Easton, Pennsylvania; 5 grandchildren – Garrett, Sara (Sam), Erica (Oscar), Melissa (Mark) and Matthew (Angie); 4 great grandchildren – Macyn, Carissa, Dylan and Ethan. There are no services scheduled for Mr. Huegel at this time.
