Obituary of Dorothy Irene Selhime

Mrs. Dorothy Irene Selhime, age 99 a resident of Lake Alfred passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Lake Wales Vitas Hospice House. Mrs. Selhime was born August 13, 1922 in Orlando, Florida to Dennis and Althea (Farrington) DeRosier. She was a homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith. She was a member of the Women’s Citrus Circle of the Experiment Station in Lake Alfred. She and her husband Allen were awarded the Garland Volunteer Award for cleaning the parks in Lake Alfred. She enjoyed traveling, yardwork, entertaining for family & friends and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Allen Selhime in 2012; brother – Eugene DeRosier and 2 sisters – Lillian DeRosier & Aletha Whitcomb. Dorothy is survived by her loving family, daughter – Cindy McGuire and her husband Eddie; granddaughter – Jessica McGuire-Hage and her husband Andrew; 2 great grandchildren – Connor Michael & Caitlynn Elizabeth; 2 sisters – Joyce Schwer & Leona Davis and many nieces & nephews. A private family graveside will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park.
