Carol Hall

Obituary of Carol L Hall

Auburndale – December 12, 1932 – November 12, 2021. Carol Jane Loomis Hall, 88, of Auburndale, FL, formally of Niagara Falls, NY. Born December 12, 1932, in Canandaigua, NY, died peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Loomis. Her father George was a World War II war Navy veteran, and as a child, she moved quite often. As a result, she learned to make friends quickly and adjust to her new surroundings. She loved to swim and even became a swimming instructor as a teenager. She loved to dance, especially the jitter bug. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School and later worked at the well-known Buzzy’s Pizzeria, in Niagara Falls. Later, after moving to Florida, she worked at Adams Packing in Auburndale from 1974 until 1997. She met her love and future husband Johnnie at this job, and they both enjoyed “juking” at the Rainbow Country Western Club. In her later years, she enjoyed collecting dolls, and her house was a museum of her life and memories. She was the loving core of her family, who enjoyed making quilts for her loved ones often incorporating some of their used clothes in the pattern. Her unselfish ways made her beloved by too many to count. Born so close to Christmas Day, she had annual Christmas parties in December, dedicated to making sure all her family was united in joyous celebration. If she asked you what you wanted for Christmas, you needed to know that not only did she make sure you got it; she was also known to repeat this same gift theme year after year. She spent hours each year putting all the birthdays, anniversaries and other special events on personalized calendars as Christmas gifts for her many family members. She made all birthdays and holidays special for everyone. Known to her grandchildren as Granny, she was a kind soul who went out of her way to make sure others were happy. She was very sentimental and nostalgic keeping all the cards she received from her loved ones. With her smile and home baked desserts, it was no wonder she made each and everyone feel loved and cared for. She made it a point to be at the various dance recitals, plays, graduations and other special events of her many grandchildren. She earned the nickname Yard Sale Granny as she loved to frequent yard sales many a Saturday morning. In her spare time she read romance novels, did sudoku and needle point. She is preceded in death by her loving daughters, Donna and Lisa. She is survived by her loving husband, Johnnie Hall and brother, John Loomis and wife Judy, sons, Thomas Williams and wife Wendy, Robert Williams and wife Marilyn, Michael Williams and wife Cherie, and Joseph Williams and wife Theresa, along with Regan Hall and wife Wanda, Eugene Hall and wife Gwen, and Becky Braswell and husband Joe, and 25 Grandchildren and 20 Great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Tuesday November 16, 2021 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale, FL, and her funeral will start at 11:00am on Wednesday November 17, 2021 at Kersey Funeral Home with a grave side service to follow at Auburndale Memorial Cemetery.
