Obituary of Janice Ann Fackler

JANICE ANN (JAN)  FACKLER 

1934 - 2021

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Janice Ann (OuiOui) Fackler peacefully entered His Kingdom, Tuesday, June 8, 2021.  She was 86 years young. 

Jan was born in Newark, New Jersey. She lived in Irvington, New Jersey until she graduated from Irvington High School.  In 1957, Jan married William Albert Fackler.  The couple shared a daughter and twin sons. The family resided in Glenside, PA  until Jan retired from the Cheltenham School District after 26 years of service.  In 2003, Jan relocated to Lake Region Village in Haines City Florida, where she remained until her passing. Lake Region became her piece of paradise.  While in Florida, Jan found her dream job at Walt Disney World working in ticket sales for seven years.

Jan enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, spending time with family and friends and anything Disney. Jan was always on the run, whether it was to visit her sons in Colorado or her daughter in Indiana.  She loved to ski, experienced many parts of the world on cruises and spoke often about her trips to Alaska and Spain. 

While at Lake Region Village, Jan served on the doughnut sales committee during the LRV coffee hour.  She loved getting to know everyone in her community on a more personal level.  Jan loved to cook for her family and friends. She will forever be remembered for her delicious black bottom cupcakes, infamous macaroni and cheese, “schlocking” iced tea and spaetzle. 

Jan, better known by her grandchildren as OuiOui, truly was one in a million.  Her ability to love took your understanding of unconditional love to a whole new level.  It was unmatched. You knew there was something special about being loved by her or being on the receiving end of one of her warm hugs. Her fun-loving nature was shaped by her wit and sassiness. She was real, passionate and enthusiastic about living life independently and on her own terms.  Some might call her crazy, we just called her OuiOui. 

Jan is preceded in death by her son, Charles “Chaz” Edsal Fackler and longtime companion, John Grimes. She is survived by her two children - daughter Lynn Susan “Sue” Victor (Mark) from Haines City Florida and son WIlliam “Bill”  Albert Fackler (Janine from Colorado.  Jan was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Cody Fackler (Brittany), K.C. Victor (Kinsie),  Justin Fackler, Jason Fackler, Carly Fackler, Kelsey Lehman (Ben), Kiley Collins (Daniel), Tevan Fackler, Joey Losey, Danalee Losey, and Dillon Losey.  Most of all, OuiOui loved spending time with and cuddling her 15 great-grandchildren. 

Remembrances may be made in the form of contributions to Kids Wish Network - an organization Jan volunteered for while she was working for Disney. She was always a kid at heart and loved making dreams come true for children who were experiencing life-altering circumstances.. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Kersey Funeral Home in Auburndale, Florida.  Service will immediately follow Visitation.  Private cremation to follow.
