Obituary of William Fredrick Lott
Mr. William F. “Bud” Lott, age 74 a resident of Polk City passed away Tues. March 9, 2021 at home surrounded by family. Mr. Lott was born July 17, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to William Abbs and Mildred (Elliott) Lott. He was a resident of Polk County since 1975 coming from Michigan. Bud was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam with the 173rd airborne (he was awarded, the Purple Heart, oak clusters, marksman badge M-14 and several other medals). He retired after 36 years from Polk County Schools as a Mechanic Service Manager. Bud was a ASE Master Mechanic, past president of ASFCME and a supporter of many charities especially charities for children. Bud was a 25 years member of AA and gave support along with volunteering with recovering alcoholics. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his bonus mother – Anne Benn Lott and son – William Steven Lott. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Nancy Lott of Polk City; 4 sons – William Daniel (Patty) Lott of Winter Haven, Mark (Faith) Hinson of Oklahoma, James (Nikki) Gnann of The Philippines and William Jeffrey Lott of Michigan. 6 grandchildren – Seth (Jessi), Mark Jr., Jana Lily, Jacob, Megan & Jacqueline and 2 gt grandchildren – Jackson & Elijah. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Mr. Lott’s name to St Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity that feeds children. A funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, March 15th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
