Obituary of Mary Lucille Fitzherbert

MARY LUCILLE FITZHERBERT
70 WINTER HAVEN
Mrs. Mary L. Fitzherbert passed away, December 4, 2018, peacefully at home in the loving comfort of her husband, daughter and cat.  Born Mary Gilbert on January 16, 1948 in Sylacauga, Alabama, she was a rambunctious child and inevitable tomboy. Mary was frank, amiable, spirited, upbeat and resilient as was evident in the unabashed way she tackled life head on and never looked back. She had a fondness for animals and the majesty of a fresh snowfall.
   

Mary retired from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in 2014, where she was proud of her work as a civilian and felt privileged to have had the opportunity to work alongside the fine deputies of Polk County as they served.
   

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and joined her mother on what would have been her 100th birthday. She is survived by her adoring husband of 24 years, Allan Fitzherbert, devoted daughter, Deanna Legendre, steadfast grandsons, Devan and Connor Legendre, beloved sisters and brothers, and a large extended family of friends and loved ones.
   

A heartfelt invitation is extended by the family to everyone wishing to express condolences to gather at 11 am on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Kersey Funeral Home in Auburndale, Florida to honor Mary’s life and legacy.  Anyone inclined to donate in tribute or memorial to Mary Fitzherbert would be encouraged to reach out to an Alzheimer’s organization.
