Obituary of Dorothy Gurney

LAKELAND - Mrs.Dorothy Gurney, age 80 a former resident of Auburndale, passed away Wednesday, February 18 2009 at Good Shepherd Hospice due to cancer. Mrs. Gurney was born July 10, 1928 in Akron, Pennsylvania to Roy & Elizabeth (Fritz) Zug. She was a retired Registered Nurse and had worked as Visiting Nurse in the Ft. Myers, Florda area. She and her husband, Franklin J. Gurney moved to the Auburndale area where Mrs. Gurney attended the Lena Vista United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gurney was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Anita Longnecker and her husband, Dennis or Honesdale, PA; 2 sons: Franklin J. Gurney, Jr. or Ephrate, PA and John J. Gurney and his wife, Leta or Hanapouli, HA.; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
