Obituary of Evelyn B. Glenn McCoy
Evelyn Glenn McCoy, age 88, of Auburndale, passed away June 1, 2017, after a brief illness. Born July 9, 1928, near Lake Garfield in Polk County, Mrs. McCoy was one of four children. She moved to Auburndale in 1930. She was a 1948 graduate of Auburndale High School and a lifelong resident of Auburndale. She worked for Adams Packing Company as a grader for many years, retiring in 1992. Mrs. McCoy was a charter member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church and attended there for almost 60 years. She loved sewing, quilting and cooking wonderful meals for her family and friends. Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, General Earl McCoy; and two brothers Howard Glenn and Edward Glenn. She is survived by her sister Maxine Sullivan of Jennings, Florida; 2 sons Rexford McCoy and Lance McCoy, both of Auburndale; her daughter Connie McCoy Parmer, also of Auburndale; three grandchildren Reed Parmer of Winter Haven, Skye McCoy Mudd of Polk City and Lindsay McCoy of Lakeland; and four great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews
