Obituary of Tommy Ray Anderson

Tommy Ray Anderson ,76, of Auburndale, Florida passed away March 18, 2024, at home in Auburndale, Florida. He was born on March 30, 1947, in Huntington, West Virginia to Burke and Luicelle (Ferris) Anderson.

Tommy was a member of the Frierson Nichols American Legion Post 8, VFW Rockledge, FL., Vietnam and all Veterans of Brevard, and the Vietnam Veterans chapter 1140. Tommy was passionate about the military troops; he would send numerous amounts of supplies to them. He also loved to ride his motorcycle, fishing and hunting. He was honorably discharged from the Army after several years of service, including Vietnam. Tommy retired as a machine operator for 30 years with Owens Illinois.

Tommy is survived by his wife Audra Anderson, Auburndale, FL., daughters Ruth Lewis, Flovilla, Ga., and Louann Dickenson, sons Tommy Dickenson (Melinda), Flovilla ,Ga., and Brook Anderson (Amber), Winter Haven, FL., sister Theresa Hogsett (Bill), Belmont WV., brothers Benny Anderson (Betty), Huntington, WV., Billy Anderson (Beatrice), Denver, PA., Bruce Anderson, New Martinsville, WV., and Butch Anderson (Ann), Huntington, WV. Along with 11 grandchildren, 18 great - grandchildren, and 3 great - great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Burke and Luicelle Anderson, Barboursville, WV, sister Clemmie Shepherd, Proctorville, OH., and brothers Bobby Anderson, Barboursville, WV., Joe Anderson, Huntington, WV., and Savannah Anderson, Mt. Joy, PA.

The family will receive friends at Kersey Funeral Home on March 25, 2024, from 10:00AM - 11:00AM Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on March 25, 2024, at Kersey Funeral Home with Jerry Smith officiating. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida at a later date.
