Obituary of Patricia Joan Wiley

Mrs. Patricia Joan “Patty” Wiley, age 88, a resident of Auburndale, Florida, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, surrounded by family. Patty was born August 28, 1935, in Bay Minette, Alabama, to Walter Douglas and Mary Lou (Presley) White. Patty and Marvin graduated from Troy State University where he played football and she was a cheerleader. They lived in Panama City, Florida, for one year before moving to Auburndale in 1959. Patty retired after forty years as a school teacher where she taught at Auburndale Junior High School and Auburndale High School. Patty was a volunteer for the Miss Auburndale Pageant, The Baynard House, and Make a Wish Foundation. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Auburndale. Patty enjoyed going to the beach, boating, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary Alice Campbell. Patty is survived by her loving family, Marvin, (married 65 years);  daughters Lisa (Bill) Tipton and Charysse (Adam) O’Donnell; grandchildren Jennifer (Richard) Butcher, Josh (Abby) Tipton, Meredith (Coleman) DeWitt and Sydney O’Donnell;  great-grandchildren Mason, Judah and Cameron. A gathering for friends with Charysse and Lisa will be held Thursday, February 8^th from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Kersey Funeral Home. A private graveside will be held on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. P.S. All we really need is your prayers for Dad.
