I meet Betty in 1991 at the same time I meet her very pregnant daughter Jacqueline. I thank Betty for Jackie she has been an amazing friend to me. I have the best memories of Betty when we spent almost every weekend at her house on the lake where we tried to kill her grandsons and my boys behind a boat on a tube. She taught me the best homemade ice cream recipe, because we always made it on the carport of her house. She loved to be around family and friends. Even when her son in law tried to take her out with a firecracker gone wrong. Betty will be missed here on earth at our function but we will all gather again for an eternal party.

The short time I knew Betty here in Barnardsville NC, proved to me that she lived what she believed. She was a kind, friendly, loving individual who would do anything to help with any need you may have. We had lots of fun going shopping, the theatre to enjoy live plays, to craft shows and festivals. She will certainly be miss by all who knew her here.
My love and prayers to Jack and the rest of the family.

Aunt Betty was one of a kind! I have awesome memories with her from going camping, to riding dirt bikes (yes she had a dirt bike), to get togethers at her house. And she was an awesome cook. My favorite thing she made was her famous “potato salad”! It was so good!! She told my sisters and I it was because “she spit in it!” Well we made sure, from that day forward, that everyone knew that was why her potato salad was so good! She would just about die and would say “I regret the day I ever told y’all that!” Then we would all start laughing!! I love you very much Aunt Betty you’re one in a million! Can’t wait till we meet again! Until then I will carry on the tradition of making your famous potato salad!!

Rest in peace, sweet Aunt Betty. My brother (Jeff) and I were so lucky to get to know you although it was much later in life. Your sense of humor and gentle spirit were evident from the very first time we spoke. I'll never forget our first phone call when you were so skeptical of who I was. As always, you were just being protective of your family. So to verify, you asked me if I had a childhood nickname and when I answered "Fatman", we both started to cry. I'll never forget that moment. See you soon! You will be missed by all!
