Obituary of Levonia Matheny

Mrs. Mary “Levonia” Matheny, age 84, a resident of Auburndale went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at home with her daughter’s by her side. Mrs. Matheny was born January 26, 1939 in Moultrie, Georgia to Oliver Cleveland and Mary (Griffith) Causey. She was a resident of Polk County over 65 years coming from Georgia. Levonia graduated from Winter Haven High School Class of 1957 and was a retired Medical Secretary. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lake Wales. Levonia played the piano in many churches since she was 9, volunteered in many churches since the age of 13 and attended the Ladies Sunday School Class at Lena Vista. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading, sewing, knitting and loved to spend time with her family. In lieu of flowers family request’s donations in Levonia’s name to; Cornerstone Hospice, 2140 East CR 540A, Lakeland, FL. 33813. Funeral services will be 1pm Saturday, October 7^th at Lena Vista Baptist Church, 213 Florida Dr., Auburndale with visitation beginning at 12 noon at the church.
