Obituary of Marjorie D. Woodard

     Marjorie Woodard, age 77 passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018. She was born September 7, 1940 in Cottonwood, Alabama to Doris and Bobby Deese. Her family moved to Auburndale before she began school. She graduated as the valedictorian of Auburndale High School in June of 1958 and married her high school sweetheart, Jim Woodard, the following October. Marjorie worked as a legal secretary until returning to school to complete her college degree. She graduated from Florida Southern College, summa cum laude, with a degree in accounting in 1982 and worked in that field until retirement.

     She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who truly loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed her church family at First United Methodist Church of Auburndale, where she often volunteered her time and service. As a lifelong learner, reading was a favorite and integral part of her life.

     She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jim Woodard, daughter Kay (Bob) Stambaugh, granddaughters Meredith and Leah Stambaugh, and nephew Greg (Debbie) Woodard. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 30th at the First United Methodist Church, 316 Lake Ariana Blvd., Auburndale.
