Obituary of Sylvia M. Cook

Mrs. Sylvia M. Cook, age 80 a resident of Winter Haven passed away May 02, 2018 at Good Shepherd Hospice with her family at her side. Mrs. Cook was born Oct. 11, 1937 in Winter Haven to Maxwell Lloyd and Thelma Desmond (Darby) Sands. She was a longtime resident of Winter Haven, graduated from Winter Haven High School Class of 1955 and was a homemaker. Sylvia retired after 10 yrs from being a beautician. She also worked alongside her husband as the V.P./Secretary for American Heritage Log Homes in Maggie Valley. First and foremost Sylvia loved the Lord and dedicated her life to serving Christ. Sylvia was a member of The Christian Heritage Baptist Church in Winter Haven. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, family gatherings and having a girl’s day out. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson – David Cook. Sylvia is survived by; Husband of 50 yrs.:Freeman Cook of Winter Haven,3 Daughters: Tammi (Douglas) Hopps of Plant City,Teresa (Warren) Starks of Auburndale, Tina Lee of Candler, NC, 2 stepsons: Eddie (Tina) Cook of Auburndale, Dennis (Debbie) Cook of Maggie Valley, NC, 3 Sisters: Mary (Carroll) of Maggie Valley, NC,Donna Parris of Maggie Valley, NC, Patricia (Larry) Krell of Land O Lakes. 11 Grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.
