Obituary of Dorothy Wood

Dorothy Bell Wood, age 78 of Auburndale passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center as a result of a heart attack. Mrs. Wood was born in Huston County, Alabama on August 25, 1930 to the parents of Johnny & Annie Lea (Ellis) Baxley. She has been a resident of Auburndale for over 52 years, she was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Auburndale; she enjoyed shopping, cooking and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Louise Helman. She is survived by her husband, James W. Wood; 3 sons: Danny Wood and his wife Alma, Dennis Wood and his wife Kandy, all of Auburndale and Donnie Wood and his wife Brenda of Ironton, Ohio; 2 daughters: Delonda Garcia and her husband Edwin of Lake Mary, Florida and Denna Hardwick and her husband Bubba of Lakeland, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren; 2 brothers: John Baxley of Lake Alfred and Raymond Baxley of Auburndale; 1 sister: Jennett Filman of Auburndale. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 2, 2009, 11:00AM at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 East Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale, Fl 33823. Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to First Freewill Baptist Church?.
