Obituary of Geraldine Stenkamp

Geraldine Marie Stenkamp, of 4003 Rolling Oaks Drive, Winter Have, died on Monday, May 25, 2009, in Ellaville, Georgia, at the home of her son, Kenneth A. Adams after and extended illness of cancer. Geraldine celebrated her 79th birthday on May 20th. Born in Nocatee, Florida, she was a fifth generation Floridian. Her parents were Herman Vernall and Lasabella Corbitt. Geraldine?s life revolved around her family. She loved to cook and maintain a welcoming home for her husband, children, extended family and friends. She was a member of the Lake Shipp Baptist Church for over 30 years. She lived a life that set an example of honesty, comfort, and compassion. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Geraldine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 28 years, Hubert G. Stenkamp; 3 brothers: Vernall, George and Joseph; 3 sisters: Lorena Godbee, Katherine Davis, and Margaret Watson. She is survived by four children, Kenneth Aimsworth Adams and wife, Linda; Michael Frank Adams and wife, Kathy; Liz Stenkamp Heid and husband, Bob; and Michael Henry Stenkamp; six grandchildren: Michael Steven Adams, Julie Marie Adams, Jonathan Heid, Erin Heid Pollock, Nickolas S. Stenkamp and Joshua A. Stenkamp; 2 great grandchildren, Skylar Christine Adams and Luke Michael Adams; a brother Ralph Corbitt and wife Nina; 2 sister ? in ? laws: Ruth (George) Corbitt of Jacksonville, and Beryl (Joseph) Corbitt of Fort Walton Beach. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, 2009, 5:00P.M. ? 6:30P.M., at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 East Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale, FL. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 29, 2009 at 10:00A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Danny Burnham of Lake Shipp Baptist Church officiating.
