olon Whitney Share E-mail Visit Guest Book SOLON WHITNEY, 87 HAINES CITY - Solon Whitney, age 87, of Haines City, Florida passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009 at his residence from respiratory failure. Mr. Whitney was born February 15, 1922 in Winter Haven, Florida to Hugh H. & Tommy Craig Whitney. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked most of his life as a home repairman. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Whitney; a son, Gene Whitney of Bartow; a step-son, Paul S. Johnson of Polk City and a step-daughter, Diane Perkins of Houston, TX; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parent s and 2 brothers; James and Charles Whitney. Visitation will be held Monday, October 5, 2009 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 East Lake Stella Dr., Auburndale, FL 33823.
