Obituary of Kathy Jayne Weed

Ms. Kathy Jayne Weed, age 59, a resident of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Winter Haven Hospital surrounded by her family. Ms. Weed was born March 27, 1964 in Key West, Florida to Joseph Reese and Margaret Elaine (Cooley) Watkins. She was a resident of Polk County for over 40 years coming from Ohio. Kathy was a member of Frostproof Church of God, graduated from Auburndale High School and attended Polk Community College. Kathy worked 39 years for the Polk County Sheriff’s Department as a Records Specialist. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family & friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal & maternal grandparents; father – Joe Watkins and brother – Rick Watkins. Kathy is survived by her loving family, mother & stepfather – Elaine & Ray Tollar of Auburndale, Florida; brother – Joe (Loida) Watkins of Winter Haven, Florida; 6 nieces & nephews – Brittany, Levi, Alexa, Natalie, Austin & Emily; 3 great nieces & nephews – Brayden, Karlei & Dexter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, May 16^th at Frostproof Church of God, 104 State Highway 630 West, Frostproof. Visitation will be held before services from 10 – 11 at the church.
