Obituary of LaMoyne Frances Meek

Obituary for LaMoyne Frances Meek LaMoyne was born to Fred and Eulah Munn on May 5, 1933, in Ionia, Michigan. She was the 10th of 13 children. LaMoyne graduated from Ionia High School in 1951. She married Al Courter in 1953 and gave birth to 4 sons. Mark, Dennis, Todd, and Scott. She married James Meek June 16, 1973, in Waukegan, IL and became stepmother to 4 children: Jim Jr., Mark, Paul and Martha. In 1974, they moved to Lebanon, IN where she became an accomplished quilter, winning many blue ribbons. Her life was one of volunteer work with seniors. She joined a local art club and the Society of Decorative Painters, and the love of painting continued on through the rest of her life. July 1922, she and Jim moved to Auburndale, Fl. where they became members of First Presbyterian Church. She served in various leadership roles as Deacon, Elder, and moderator of Presbyterian Women organization. She served as leader of the Congregational Care/Fellowship Team. She sang in the Chapel choir and Haven Harmony for many years and was a charter member of Citrus Ridge Decorative Artists where she served many times as Secretary and Fellowship chair. Her life revolved around volunteering and helping others. She volunteered at Good Shepherd Hospice with the Vigil team and respite care. She played a role as "Pockets" a karing clown for many years, bringing joy to patients in care facilities and memory units. LaMoyne was pre-deceased by her husband Jim in 2016. Her survivors include her 4 sons, Mark, Dennis, Todd, and Scott Courter, 3 stepchildren, Mark Meek, Martha Meek and Paul Meek, brother, Bruce Munn, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held May 5th, 11am at First Presbyterian Church of Auburndale, Fl. Address: 410 Pilaklakaha Avenue, Auburndale, Florida 33823 phone: 863-967-1010.
