Obituary of Lovie Mavis Jones

Mrs. Lovie Mavis Jones, age 77, a resident Polk City, Florida passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her home. Mrs. Jones was born April 10, 1945 in Lakeland, Florida to William Madison and Lovie Mavis (Smith) Ritter. She was a lifetime Polk County resident, graduated from Lakeland High School and a retired Medical Records Clerk for Watson Clinic. She attended Crestview Baptist Church in Lakeland. Lovie enjoyed ceramics, sitting looking at the countryside and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Douglas McCarther Jones and sister – Betty Ann. Lovie is survived by her loving family, son – Justin D. Jones of Savannah, Georgia; brother – William Ritter of Lakeland, Florida; sister – Marjorie (Brian) Wood of Polk City, Florida and granddaughter – Jillian Jones of Savannah, Georgia. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, March 14^th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
