Obituary of Betty Elizabeth Alverson

Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Macklin Hobbs Alverson, age 82 a longtime resident of Polk County, Florida passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Coastal Manor Nursing Home in Yarmouth, Maine. Mrs. Alverson was born June 1, 1940 in Lakeland, Florida to Harry and Thelma (Dobson) Macklin. She was a retired Administrator for Florida Community College in Jacksonville, Florida. Betty enjoyed crocheting, going to thrift stores and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband – Andrew Osborne Hobbs. Betty is survived by, son – Eric Osborne Hobbs of Gainesville, Florida; daughter – Karen Hobbs Hogan of Palmer, Alaska; grandson – Harrison Thomas Hogan and wife Elizabeth of Jacksonville, Florida; 2 granddaughters – Melissa Leigh Hogan Fyler and husband Charles of Winthrop, Maine and Hannah Elizabeth Robins and husband Scott of Palmer, Alaska; 7 great grandchildren – Alan, Freya, Vilde, Alana, Parker, Theodore & Caspian. Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 7^th at Auburndale Cemetery.
