Obituary of James Alvin Walton

Mr. James Alvin Walton, 75, was born August 30, 1947, in Dyer County, Tennessee to Ivan P. and Margaret Lucille (Goff) Walton. He passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in Lake Wales, Florida. James was a longtime resident of Polk County moving to Florida in 1951. He was married to Maxine (Stinson) Walton and worked for the Horticulture Department at Cypress Gardens for 35 years. He loved the great outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, four-wheeling, watching Western movies and enjoyed time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 49 years – Maxine; 2 brothers – Alton & Bobby and his grandson – Cody Prochaska. Mr. Walton is survived by his daughter – Kathy Walton (Shannon) Alexander; son – Tim (Jennifer) Walton; brother – Johnny (Bobbie Ruth) Walton; 2 sisters – Bertha Bonds & Margaret Jarvi; 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. There are no services scheduled for Mr. Walton.
