Obituary of Lou Etta Cole

Mrs. Lou Etta Cole, age 81, a resident of Bowling Green, Florida passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Mrs. Cole was born June 19, 1941 in Jay, Florida to George Washington and Mattie Odessa (Jordan) Strickland. She was a retired Healthcare Worker & Psychiatric Aide for the State of Florida. She has been a resident of Bowling Green, Florida since 1994 coming from Lake Placid, Florida. Lou was a member of the Fort Green Baptist Church in Fort Green, Florida. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, cooking and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Jimmie Clennon Cole; 2 brothers - Charles Strickland & Jay W. Strickland; and 2 sisters – Eunice Holley & Anne Turgeau. Lou is survived by her loving family, son – Timothy Cole of Zolfo Springs, Florida; 2 daughters – Theresa Dempsey of Henagar, Alabama and Terri (Reginald) Brown of Bowling Green, Florida; 2 sisters – Betty DeLozier of Plant City, Florida and Mary J. Todd of Plant City, Florida; 12 Grandchildren – Clennon, Kayle, Mariannette, Kelly, Kelsey, Luke, Jimmy, Victoria, Michael, Bobby Resha, Reggie Allen and Stormy and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, January 27^th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
