Obituary of Worna Marie Crosby

Ms. Worna Marie Hester Crosby, age 89, a resident of Auburndale, Florida passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at Adventhealth Lake Wales. Mrs. Crosby was born December 31, 1932 in Cross City, Florida to Horace Ezekiel and Lucy Ida (Hicks) Dees. She was an Auburndale resident for over 60 years coming from Cross City, Florida. Worna was a retired CNA for Bartow General Hospital and a member of Central Assembly of God Church in Auburndale. She enjoyed playing the piano for the nursing home ministry at Auburndale Oaks and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – James David Hester; son – Dwight Hester; 2 brothers – Donald & C.L. and 4 sisters – Lowell, Ouida, Flonnie & Rayceil. Worna is survived by her loving family, 2 sons – Michael Hester and Darryl Hester both of Auburndale; 2 daughters – Janet Hester of Auburndale and Regina (Ray) Gill of Franklin, NC; sister in law – Brenda Hester of Auburndale; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, December 22nd at Central Assembly of God Church, 601 Lemon Street, Auburndale. Visitation will begin at 1 pm at the church. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
