Obituary of Agnes Quinell Miller

Mrs. Agnes Quinell Miller, age 88, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, from natural causes at Brookdale of Winter Haven.  Agnes was born July 26, 1934, in Georgia to Edward and Eunice (Cook) Daniels.  She was an Auburndale resident for over 80 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Auburndale.  She graduated from Auburndale High School and Polk Community College.  Agnes was a proud stay-at-home mom and wife who volunteered at the Auburndale Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and as a Girl Scout Troop Leader.  In 1972, Agnes went to work for Polk County Public Schools, where she retired after 25 years.  Agnes enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, and baseball cards; but she loved above all else to spend time with her family.  She hosted family and friends for Christmas Eve at her home for over 40 years.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve E. Miller Sr.; her daughter, Susan E. Miller Highsmith Hammond; her son, Steve E. Miller, Jr.  Agnes is survived by her loving family: grandchildren - Heather Highsmith Brown and husband Kurt of Winter Haven, Holly Highsmith of Auburndale, Haley Highsmith Evans and husband Phil of Lake Wales, and Harrison Highsmith of Baton Rouge, LA; great-grandchildren - Peyton, Hannah, Austin, Karmen, and Holden; Son-in-Law James Highsmith and wife Rebecca and their children and grandchildren and Daughter-in-Law Lorenda Cook Miller Price and husband Neil and their family.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Kersey Funeral Home in Auburndale with visitation beginning at 9:00 am.  Internment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
