Obituary of Glynn Alton Chancy

Mr. Glynn Alton Chancy, age 81 a resident of Lakeland, Florida passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Mr. Chancy was born January 11, 1941 in Quitman, Georgia to Hubert Franklin and Rhoda (Roach-Copeland) Chancy. He was a resident of Lakeland since 2020 coming from Moultrie, Georgia and Member of the United States Army National Guard for 15 years. Glynn was a member of Heritage Church in Moultrie, Georgia and Attends Victory Church in Lakeland, Florida. He was an active member of Promise Keepers and was the Owner/Operator of Nationwide Insurance Agency in Moultrie, Georgia. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons, classic cars and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; son – Richard Chancy; brother – Hubert Franklin Chancy, Jr. and sister – Faye Taylor. Glynn is survived by his loving & devoted family, wife of 58 years – Sue Wildes Chancy of Lakeland, Florida; son – Michael Chancy and wife Nena of Auburndale, Florida; daughter in law – Kristy Chancy of Cumming, Georgia; 8 grandchildren – Jordan, Jacob (Meagan), Haley (Mathew), Rachel (Daniel), Abigail, Colton (Jenna), Andrew (Autumn) and Hayden; 6 great grandchildren – Eli, Gideon, Addie Beth, Rose, Lenny and Raven. In lieu of flowers the family request’s donations to The Scholarship Fund of Mr. Richard Chancy, C/O Heritage Church, P.O. Box 307, Moultrie, GA. 31776.  A celebration of Mr. Chancy’s life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 17th at Heritage Church, 844 Georgia Highway 33 South, Moultrie, Georgia.
