Corporal James Dean Wilbur, age 21 a resident of Winter Haven, Florida passed away at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland surrounded by his family. James was born March 15, 2001 in Greenley, Colorado to Michael Dale and Caprice Deanne (Hoover) Wilbur. He graduated from Winter Haven High School “Blue Devils” Class of 2018, while in school he was a member of the Band playing guitar and a member of the JROTC. After graduation James joined the United States Army where he went to basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia, then stationed in Fort Hood, Texas then stationed in Germany then was stationed at Walter Reed Medical Center in the Re-Assigned Solider Recovery Battalion Unit. James enjoyed camping, the outdoors, volunteering at the VFW, volunteered with the Red White & Blue Bar b Que event in Winter Haven, playing his guitar and most of all spending with his family. He was preceded in death by his paternal & maternal great grandparents; paternal grandfather – Dale Wilbur and maternal grandfather – James Hoover. James is survived by his loving & devoted family, his father & stepmother – Mike and Carey Wilbur of Winter Haven, Florida; mother & stepfather – Caprice and Rick Kuntz of Windsor, Colorado; brother – Derick Wilbur of Windsor, Colorado; paternal grandmother – Dora Wilbur of Grand Junction, Colorado; maternal grandmother – Terri Hoover of Windsor, Colorado and many other family & friends. Gathering of family and friends will celebrate James’s life on Saturday, October 1st from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with full Military Honors at Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale.
