Dennis Eugene Root , 70 , of Auburndale , Florida passed away June 4, 2022 at Lakeland Regional Health surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born on March 13, 1952 in Wadsworth , Ohio to Eugene and Neoma. Dennis loved going to church, he was of Pentecostal faith, and was also a pastor of a local nursing home ministry. Dennis loved spending time with his family, especially his grand children. He loved fishing, listening to gospel music , cheering on his favorite sports teams of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Florida Gators. His favorite color was blue, and ironically enough, that is how his loved ones are left feeling by the loss of a man they so dearly admired and loved. What brings a sparkle to their eyes and hearts, are the telling of many stories of home and family gatherings that Dennis was a part of, these fond and delightful stories will always remain etched on the memories of all that truly loved and knew him. Dennis is survived by: his wife of many years Rebecca Root, Auburndale, Fl., daughters Sarah Valrie (Cedrick) Lakeland, FL., and Denise Smith (Ben) Auburndale, Fl., 8 Grand children, Julius, Layla, Isaiah, Elizabeth, Antonio, Aliana, Yuriah, and Emersyn.

He was preceded in death by: Both parents

Memorial service for Mr. Dennis Root will be held July 16th from 1-3pm at Central Assembly of God
