Obituary for Matthew Steven Farmer

Matthew Steven Farmer , 58 , of Elba , Alabama passed away January 21, 2022 at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center Panama City , Florida . He was born on January 3, 1964 in Opp , Alabama to James and Flora (Whitehead ) Farmer. Matthew was a former City of Auburndale employee where he worked for many years until he retired. He loved anything dealing with the water. He loved painting river rocks, collecting seashells, riding motorcycles, fishing, and hunting, but most of all he loved his family very much.

Matthew is survived by: his mother Mrs. Flora Farmer; daughter, Amanda Walker of Auburndale, Florida, son Steven Farmer of Lakeland, Florida; brother Jim Farmer (Janet) of Babson Park, Florida. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 2 grandchildren, Shaylee Sines and Brystol Walker and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Kersey Funeral Home on January 27, 2022 from 2:00PM - 3:00PM Funeral services will be at 3:00PM on January 27, 2022 at Kersey Funeral Home with Brent Farmer officiating. Interment will be at Auburndale Memorial Park .

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to bring in a painted rock or a memory to share about Matthew.

Those who wish to drop off food for the repast before the service may do so at the Auburndale Park & Recreation Building located at 119 W. Park Street Auburndale, Florida.  Miss Becky from the city will be coordinating items dropped off.  All are invited to eat with the family who wish to do so.
