Obituary of Amelia Marlene Ingle Cheatwood

Mrs. Amelia “Marlene” Ingle Cheatwood, age 86 a resident of Lakeland, Florida passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 at The Manor at Carpenter’s surrounded by her family. Mrs. Cheatwood was born December 30, 1935 in Lake Alfred, Florida to Victor Malley and Lucile (Walmsley) Ingle. She graduated from Lakeland High School the first class to graduate in the new building. Marlene also graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She was a homemaker and Beautician. Marlene enjoyed reading sometimes 3 or 4 books at a time, going to the beach, walking, sunsets, dogs, cats, ducks, music and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Glen Marvin Cheatwood; son – Stephen Eric Cheatwood and sister – Wanda Altman. Marlene is survived by her loving family, son – Marvin Cheatwood, Jr. of Lakeland, Florida; daughter – Joni Cheatwood-Coffelt and husband Albert “Ace” of Lakeland, Florida; brother – James Victor Ingle and wife Allison of Lakeland, Florida; 2 sisters – June Godfrey of Auburndale, Florida and Linda Myers and husband Michael of Lake Alfred, Florida; 4 grandchildren – Sarah Cheatwood of Orlando, Florida, Rebecca Cheatwood of Lakeland, Florida, James Turner of Lakeland, Florida and Kayleigh Schott of Lakeland, Florida; 7 great grandchildren – Hannah, Simon, Faith, Avah, Bodhi, Cayden & Avery. Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Friday, September 16^th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 3pm at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland.
