Obituary of Ray Lamar Jackson, Sr.

Mr. Ray Lamar Jackson, Sr. age 74 a resident of Auburndale, Florida passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Jackson was born May 23, 1947 in Auburndale, Florida to William Dewey and Edith Berdine (Williams) Jackson. He graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1967. He retired from Publix after 25 years as a Truck Driver. Ray was a member of First Baptist Church in Polk City. He coached football and little league both for Auburndale. He was a honorary member of the Polk County Federation FFA, as well as being a honorary member at Auburndale and Tenoroc Highschools. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, helping friends herd and work cows but most of all loved to spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter – Baylee and 2 brothers – Marvette & Yvonne. Ray is survived by his loving family, wife of 54 years – Linda Jackson; 2 sons – Jody (Teresa) Jackson and Chad (Deborah) Jackson; 2 daughters – Christi (Delon) Meadows and Martie Tong; 3 sisters – Annette Coe, Jeanie Wise & Shirley Bryan; 8 grandchildren – Colt (Rachel), Morgan (Jacob), Kalyn, Allison, Clayton, Brooke (Donovan), Emily & Michael (Brea); 4 great grandsons – Jonni, Waylon, Cutter & Jackson. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held 11:00 am Friday, December 17th at First Baptist Church, 212 Hamolia Avenue, Polk City, Florida.
