Obituary of Mary Wilma Beasley

Mary Wilma (Jackson) Beasley passed peacefully in her home in Crawfordville, Florida on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born on May 9, 1930 near Cumberland City, Tennessee. Wilma was a longtime resident of Winter Haven, Florida, having moved there at the age of 16. Her first job was at the Key Drugstore in downtown Winter Haven where she met Rudolph Beasley. They were married from 1946 to 1988 when Rudolph died suddenly, leaving her a widow for her remaining 33 years. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church in Winter Haven since 1951. Wilma retired from Winter Haven Hospital, having worked there as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 20 years. Throughout her life she was a compassionate, private caregiver for many children, family and friends. Among her many attributes was her genuine love of her family and friends. Her extensive network of longtime friends came from all walks of life. Each soul was precious to her. She had a long life, well lived and well loved by those whose lives she touched. Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Edward Beasley; her parents, Willie Andrew Jackson & Martha Jane (Ballard) Jackson; five siblings, Maggie Mae McHugh, Sarah Elizabeth Burney, Willie Linas Jackson, Labron Jackson & Vivian Naomi Hale. She is survived by her children, Deborah Beasley Madden and her husband John of Crawfordville, FL. and Brian Rudolph Beasley and his wife Vicki of Auburndale, FL.; She was “Memo” to her four grandchildren and five great grandchildren – Justin D. (Michelle) Butler and their children Marlee and Jackson from Vero Beach, FL., Jarrod R. (Crystal) Butler and their children Elizabeth and Alexander from Longwood, FL., PO1 Jacob L. Butler, USN-Naval Station Mayport, FL. and Marygayle Beasley (Kalen) Maynard and their son Khole of Auburndale, FL. She was “Aunt Wilma” to many nieces, nephews and their extended families. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, October 13th at Lakeside Memorial Park, 2450 US Highway 17 North AKA Lake Alfred Rd. in Winter Haven. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:30 am @ The Barn At Azalea Oaks, 326 Gerber Dairy Rd. in Eagle Lake.
