Obituary of Tokuko Y Varnes

Mrs. Tokuko Y. Varnes, age 88 a resident of Auburndale passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe House in Auburndale surrounded by her family. Mrs. Varnes was born March 26, 1933 in Kitamishi, Kokkaido, Japan to Kosuke & Tamino Yamada. She was a Cafeteria Server for Polk County Schools and was a Polk County resident since the 1960’s. Tokuko enjoyed traveling with her husband while in the Military, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – James Owen Varnes, Jr. in 2003 and a brother. Tokuko is survived by her loving family, 2 daughters – Virginia (Douglas) Frissell of Georgia and Wanda (Robert) Allison of Auburndale, Florida; son – James Owen (Debbie) Varnes, III of Georgia; brother – Takoa of Japan; 2 sisters – Kazuko of Hawaii and Yuriko of Japan; 7 grandchildren – Monica, Marissa, James, Dustin, Robert, James & Tamino and 12 great grandchildren. An inurnment will be held 9:30 am Friday, September 17th at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
