Obituary of Nicholas Edward Canuso

Mr. Nicholas Edward Canuso, age 45 a resident of Winter Haven went to Heaven on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Winter Haven Hospital surrounded by family. Mr. Canuso was born April 12, 1976 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Gaylord Leroy Wessel and Constance Cecelia Canuso. Nicholas graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska and was still continuing his education today at Berklee College of Music. He was a Winter Haven resident since 2020 coming from Altamonte Springs, Florida. He was a musician in the entertainment industry. Nicholas was a member of Kairos Church in Winter Haven, and for over 25 years: an Ordained Minister, Youth Minister, Worship Minister, active in Intercessory Prayer Rooms and Church Music Programs. He was an avid Anti-Human Trafficking Advocate and published a book “Land of the Free” about human trafficking. Nicholas produced 2 Albums (1 pop music and 1 worship music). He enjoyed music of all kinds, Star Wars everything, Disney World, and going to the beach, he was a cigar enthusiast and loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father; stepfather – William “Bill” Buchmeier; maternal & paternal grandparents; 1 stepbrother and 1 stepsister. Nicholas is survived by his loving & devoted family, wife of 26 years – Dixie Canuso of Winter Haven; 4 sons – Antonio (Nicole) Canuso of Auburndale, Ryan “Rocky” Canuso, Carlo Canuso and Luca Canuso all of Winter Haven; 3 daughters – Cecelia Canuso of Altamonte Springs, Keliah Canuso and Sabina Canuso both of Winter Haven; mother – Connie Buchmeier of Winter Haven; 2 stepsisters – Jennifer & Renee; father-in-law & mother-in-law – James & Mary Newman of Tuttle, Oklahoma and 1 grandson – Romeo Canuso. A celebration of Nicholas’s life will be held 3:00 pm Monday, September 6th at Kairos Church, 5624 Cypress Gardens Blvd., Winter Haven with a  gathering of family & friends beginning at 2:30pm.
