Obituary of Ruth Woodard

Mrs. Annie “Ruth” Woodard, age 87 a resident of Auburndale passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe House in Auburndale surrounded by family. Mrs. Woodard was born October 19, 1933 in Florence, Alabama to Samuel Perry and Annie Ruth (Paulk) Smith. She was an Auburndale resident since 1944 coming from Florence, AL. Ruth attended Auburndale Schools and was the Owner/Operator of Woodard’s Upholstery in Auburndale. Ruth was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 65 years and volunteered to help with bereavement meals. She was a hospice volunteer for Good Shepherd for many years. She enjoyed puzzles, word finds, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – William Harrell “Harold” Woodard in 2007; 2 brothers – James & Samuel; grandson – Jared Jackson and granddaughter – Teresa Woodard-Carr.  Ruth is survived by her loving family, son – David (Mejra) Woodard of Auburndale, FL.; 2 daughters – Carol (Al) Jackson and Susan (Larry) Cremeans both of Rutledge, TN.; sister – Margaret “Auline” Woodard of Jacksonville, FL.; 5 grandchildren – Lonnie, Lonetta, Stephanie, Jeremy & Selena; 9 gt. grandchildren – Austin, Abbygail, Jonathan, Keirra, Justin, Addyson, David, Nevaeh & Jarrod and 3 gt gt grandchildren – Tristan, Noah & Jahkyla. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 24th at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 406 Main St., Auburndale with visitation beginning 10am at the church. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
