Obituary of William Jefferson Phillips

Mr. William Jefferson Phillips, age 70 a resident of Haines City, Florida passed away Friday, July2, 2021 at Advent Health Hospital in Haines City surrounded by his family. Mr. Phillips was born August 19, 1950 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Daniel Hugh and Cora Deverta (Gainey) Phillips. He was a resident of Polk County, Florida since 1958 and attended Winter Haven schools. He was Owner/Operator of William J. Phillips Plumbing Inc. in Winter Haven, member of the First Baptist Church in Wahneta, Florida and a past member of the Winter Haven Moose Lodge. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. William is survived by his loving wife of 44 years – Diane Phillips of Haines City; son – Daryl Lee Phillips, Sr. of Lakeland; 3 daughters – Nina Gainey of Auburndale, Skyler Phillips of Lakeland and Lexxy Phillips of Haines City; 2 sisters – Joyce Dickerson of Marianna and Floyce (Floyd) Whittington of Bartow; grandson – Daryl; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be held 6:00 pm Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Gaskin Cemetery in Gaskin, Florida.
