Obituary of Delioun Eloise Basham

Mrs. Delioun Eloise Basham, age 87 a resident of Auburndale passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Winter Haven Hospital. Mrs. Basham was born November 6, 1933 in Houston County, Alabama to Ligon Webster and Veda (Spivey) Kirkland. She was a resident of Polk County since 1966 coming from Alabama. Delioun was a member of Heaven Bound Free Will Baptist Church in Lakeland and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for people, keeping her house in order, yardwork and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Harold Basham and brother – Roy Kirkland. Delioun is survived by her loving family, 2 sons – Danny (Phyllis) Harrison of Auburndale, FL. and Rickey (Martha) Harrison of Lakeland, FL.; daughter – Janet (Michael) Collins of Winter Garden, FL.; sister – Eunice (Marvin) Mercer of Auburndale, FL.; 3 grandchildren – Shane (Jodi) Harrison of Sachse, TX., Denise Savoy of Boise, ID. And Brian (Amanda) Collins of Jacksonville, FL. and 8 great grandchildren – Ryli, Reese, Jesse, Kensie, Landen, Emily, Owen and Tyler. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, March 22nd at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
