Obituary of Murlene Hazel Smith

Mrs. Murlene Hazel Smith, age 84 a resident of Auburndale passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Smith was born November 24, 1936 in Auburndale to Niles and Ada (Watson) Perry. She was a lifetime resident of Auburndale, member of First Missionary Baptist Church and graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1955. Murlene enjoyed crocheting, going to softball games, watching baseball and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband – James “Buck” Dukes; brother – Wilbur and 3 sisters – Carolyn, Alice & Angie. Murlene is survived by her husband of 16 years – Billy Smith; 2 daughters – Rebecca (Dean) Bozeman and Debra (Ralph) Sexton; 4 grandchildren – Bryan Bozeman, Jennifer Cayson, Kenneth Cayson, Jr. and Stacy Mills; 3 gt grandchildren and 3 gt gt grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, February 15th from 6:00 until 7:00 pm at Kersey Funeral Home.
